Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 Launched

Samsung has just launched the second generation version of the Samsung Galaxy Grand, the Grand 2. The phone though features some expanded set of features from the original lacks bite! The devise sports a 5.25 inch HD display wih Android 4.3 Jellybean out of the box. The price has not been revealed yet. It is expected to be release at a range of 25 - 27 k in the Indian market.

Dell XPS 13 comes to compete Apple MacBook Air 13, it features a much-more conventional laptop design and comes with a 13.3 inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. On the hardware side, it comes with a dual-core 1.7Ghz Intel Core i3 Haswell processor with 4 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD storage and Intel HD 4400 Graphics.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 USB 3.0 ports, card slot, headset jack and mini DisplayPort. Rather interestingly, this laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed. The XPS 13 also starts at $1000.

Jolla Smartphone with Sailfish OS

Jolla Smartphone is the latest device running on Meego based operation system Sailfish. It costs $550 and uses an alternative design. It looks like two piece joined together. It's a little chunky at 9.9mm and a medium weight of 141g.






Jolla Phone has 1.4GHz dual-core processor made by Qualcomm and 1GB of RAM. There's 16GB of storage and a microSD card slot underneath the rear cover for adding more. A 7.98Wh battery is removable but we haven't been able to test out batter life during our hands-on time.

Jolla Specs are towards the top end of the mid-range with a 4.5in IPS screen which has a qHD resolution (540x960). It's got the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS, plus 4G support and NFC. However, the latter is only there for use with the interchangeable covers.

Jolla calls this feature 'the other half'. Essentially, the removable covers which come in a number of different colours each have an NFC chip which stores information. When attached to the phone, the case dictates things like the wallpaper and even personal settings.

There's an 8Mp rear camera with an LED flash and a 2Mp front facing webcam. Those numbers sound good but the cameras, during our hands-on time, didn't take very impressive photos.

LG Curved OLED - Gigantic Innovation

LG has launched its world's largest OLED in curved shape. Public exposition was done at Consumer Electronics Association's Ultra HD conference.






LG Curved OLED has shown the manifestation of Ultra HD or “4K” and benefits of technology i.e. better color and contrast then LCD. Claimed to be an impressive technology, OLED might make things difficult for LCD run screens due to their excellent contrast, color and black levels.

HD quality is 4 times better than the original 1080P with 3,840 X 2,160 resolution but it still lags standards for formats.

One of the core disadvantages of this magnanimous screen is that if you sit closer then you’ll not be able to see pixels. Like for 55inch 4K screen sitting 4feet away is enough to view extra pixels but for 77inch those 4ft are not enough.

As with other curved screens, it also has shinny concave surface which was little successful to reflect. Little is known about user experience or even a perception of it as LG didn’t say any word on the specifications, pricing or period of availability.
